Welcome to my online portfolio. My name is Lindsey Brookbank, and I recently graduated from Virginia Tech in May 2012 with majors in English professional writing and communication electronic/print journalism.

While I was at Tech, I served as features staff writer, features editor and managing editor for the student newspaper the
Collegiate Times. Immediately after graduation, I served as a reporter at the Leesburg Today and Ashburn Today newspapers, primarily covering the Ashburn, Va. area until November 2012. At that point in time, I took on the role as communications coordinator at The Vision Council, focusing the majority of my time working on the Eyecessorize fashion eyewear campaign. For more information about my role with Eyecessorize, go to my Linkedin page.

I am also the second place winner for the 2011 Associated Collegiate Press
Reporter of the Year award — beating a reporter from Harvard University. The three stories I submitted for the award are available on the ACP submissions page. In addition, I am the 2012 recipient of the John Eure Award in Journalism. I was granted this award through the communication department at Tech.
